Errors saving Powerpoint files to SMB shares

Hi,
Periodically users get errors trying to save powerpoint files to our DFS network share that is mapped as a drive for users.
They show up in event logs as follows:
Microsoft Powerpoint
An error occurred saving the file
Event Id: 300
Microsoft Powerpoint
Sorry we couldn't open filename.pptx
Event Id: 300
This only happens with powerpoint files (no other file types or office files are affected) and only happens when office tries to save to that share. If we save it to a different share or locally and then copy that file to the correct share, the file copies fine.
