Could I use Azure China CDN to accelerate Blob content stored in Azure HK ?

Users are in Mainland China, but my content is in Blog of Azure HK.

Hello,

Yes, you can use Azure China CDN to accelerate Blob content stored in Azure HK for users in Mainland China.
Azure Content Delivery Network (CDN) Global can serve content to China users with point of presence (POP) locations near China or any POP that provides the best performance to requests originating from China.
If China is a significant market for your customers and they need fast performance, it’s recommended to use Azure Content Delivery Network China. This service differs from Azure CDN Global as it delivers content from POPs inside of China by partnering with local providers.
Due to Chinese compliance and regulation, you must register a separate subscription to use Azure CDN China, and your websites need to have an ICP license.

The portal and API experience to enable and manage content delivery is identical between Azure CDN Global and Azure CDN China.

For cross-border data transfer, typically there is latency about three times than the normal distance. It’s a best practice to host the workload targeting Chinese users on Azure in China and deploy the workload to the closest Azure region for users located outside of China

Thanks a lot for your answer. Currently we deployed one system in Azure HK, and contents are stored in Azure HK Blob. Most of our customers are in Mainland China. We found the latency is around 10s to 15s to load Blob contents in Mainland China. That's a big impact to our customers. So I would like to accelerate the loading speed.

Refer to your answer, I think we need to adopt Azure Content Delivery Network China, do you have any documents detailing on how to set up CDN for Azure HK Blob in Azure China portal? Thanks in advance.

In my case, we did involve in cross-border data transfer. Our system is a dynamic system which combines web module, database and other middlewares such as kaflka/nacos/redis, you mentioned that it's better to host workload in Azure China and also deploy in HK. May I know how to solve the database and redis/nacos/kaflka synchronisation ? Or you have other solutions in this case ? Thanks.

I understand that you would like to know if you can use Azure China Sovereign cloud CDN with a Blob content stored in Azure HK (Azure Public Cloud) , i.e., East AsiaThis document explains the main differences and when to use the different clouds : China content delivery with Azure Content Delivery Network.

The portal and API experience to enable and manage content delivery is identical between Azure Content Delivery Network global and Azure Content Delivery Network China.

As mentioned by betty taylor, as long as you comply with Chinese compliance and regulation and your websites have an ICP license, you should be able to configure the Azure China CDN like a normal CDN.
