Hello,

I am finance professional who loosely looks after our IT after our It manager left 2 months ago i have received an email see below this paragraph. How can I migrate my classic storage accounts to Azure Resource Manager to ensure a seamless transition before the August 31, 2024 deadline? Are there specific tools or services recommended by Microsoft to assist with this migration?

Note i have tried the help section but that in itself is like a maze, it will probably make sense to those with more expertise

Email received:

Migrate your classic storage accounts to Azure Resource Manager by 31 August 2024

You’re receiving this email because there are classic storage accounts in your subscription(s).

We previously announced that Azure Cloud Services (classic) will be retired on 31 August 2024. Because classic storage accounts are dependent on Azure Cloud Services (classic), they’ll be retired on the same date.

Before that date, you’ll need to migrate classic storage accounts to Azure Resource Manager, which provides the same capabilities as well as new features, including:

• A management layer that simplifies deployment by enabling you to create, update, and delete resources.

• Resource grouping, which allows you to deploy, monitor, manage, and apply access control policies to resources as a group.

After 31 August 2024, you’ll no longer be able to perform any classic storage account management operations through the classic deployment model. However, your data will be preserved and unaffected by this change.

Required action

To avoid service disruptions, migrate your classic storage accounts to Azure Resource Manager by 31 August 2024. Additionally, update any management operations in code or applications that target the classic deployment model. Read the FAQ and other details about this migration.
