We need the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 32 bit install, can someone please provide a link. We need the functionality to import excel files in via SSMS so the 32 bit driver is required

    Hi @Thomas Davies,

    Thanks for your information.

I agree with Yitzhak Khabinsky. The Microsoft has removed the download link for the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0.

This is the download link of Micrrosoft.ACE.OLEDB.16.0. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54920.

You can follow the steps in this article to import the excel files in SSMS. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/import-export/import-data-from-excel-to-sql?view=sql-server-ver16#wiz.

Hope this can help you well.

    Best regards,

    Lucy Chen

    Hi @Thomas Davies,

It seems that Microsoft removed a download link for the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0

But you don't have to be stuck with it.

Here is your solution based on the newer Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.16.0

In the SSMS import wizard just select Excel version: Microsoft Excel 2016

Here is its download link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54920

This answer may sound a bit twisted. ACE OLE DB 12 still works with SSIS 2019. Packages built with Visual Studio 2019 using ACE OLE DB 12 or an older, no longer supported and with breaking changes (ACE OLE DB 16) also, are no longer available (or supported). What is implied here is that builds correspond to MS Access which is now under the newer version supporting the Office 365. Once that occurred, and my ACE OLE DB 16 update began failing on my SSIS packages, I was able to revert back to ACE OLE DB 12 and keep them running. It would be great is Microsoft would allow us to download the older copies but it appears they've been destroyed. Probably rightly so, but to those of us who live behind a NAT that has no open ports, systems can still run on older files safely. My two cents.
