Edge SSO not working any more

Strangest thing is happening. We assign Edge (Stabile version) to our dedicated android devices with Azure AD. Yesterday version 124.0.2478.50 (247805005) of Edge AI Browser was starting to install on our devices and we ran in to a problem instantly. The app shows a screen saying "Sign in to sync" and Add account. Normally edge should just automatically sign in to the signed in users account (SSO). Pressing the "Add account" button results in that the app is just "thinking" spinning blue circle and nothing more happens. The most strange thing is that the official version according to Google Play and Microsofts release notes is 123.0.2420.102 (242010205). And if you Google "124.0.2478.50 (247805005)" you get information about Edge BETA, which we dont have assigned to our devices. How can ver 124.0.2478.50 (247805005) be installed on our devices in the first place? Testing the exact same thing in our QA tenant, we just see ver 123.0.2420.102 (242010205)

Chapter 2
A day later we realized that Edge was updated again, and the version was back to 123.0.2420.102 and SSO was working. We quickly uninstalled Edge on all our devices and reinstalled it again, problem solved... temporary.

Chapter 3. Tonight Edge was updated again (on Google Play) to version 124.0.2478.62 and now the SSO issue is back!!!

THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE CAUSING SEVERE ISSUES!

Clearing app cache does not help by the way Anyone experiencing this? Any ideas why?

Huge issue for us, need this fixed ASAP as its completely breaking the workflow we have for some Android tablets we have with Managed Home Screen in Entra ID Shared Mode.

User signs into MHS, Edge doesn't get SSO anymore, instead asks user to sign into sync and it just never progresses from there.

Few days ago Edge on our MHS phones updated to 124.0.2478.62 and from that moment SSO is not working anymore.
Tried with a fresh enrolment on test phone but SSO still not working.
SSO on Teams, Outlook and Viva works fine.

@Jenslöv, Niklas, Thanks for posting in Q&A.

For the question, how can version 124.0.2478.50 (247805005) be installed on our devices in the first place?

If you deploy Edge from Managed Google Play via Intune, the app will auto update on targeted device.

As for SSO issue on Edge, I have tag Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Entra ID on this case, please wait for the support to help.

    Thanks for your kind understanding.

I've put 124.0.2478.71 on a tablet this morning, and the issue seems to be still present in that version too. (most of my tablets are not seeing the new version yet though)

Edit: Tested some more with 124.0.2478.71 and while the SSO details are not being passed from MHS to Edge still, it looks like you are at least able to sign in instead of getting stuck on the spinning loading screen. Which is better but not fixed.
But also not all of our tablets are getting the updated version yet, and the only way for my to always get it so far seems to involve resetting the tablet and setting it up from scratch again.

I have version 124.0.2478.87 on my personal device (high end new device), but it's not yet available on our company devices or in the Play Store. Waiting for the update to test.
