Azure VPN Client

Question

I have Azure VPN Client installed on a PC in my warehouse. I need the same connection on another PC. I exported the connection, but when I import on the new machine, the Certificate Information shows "Inactive Cert" and this message appears, "Client Certificate Issuer cannot be empty." The connection is valid and works on the original PC. Why does it not work on the new PC?

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.

I understand that you are trying to export the Azure P2S VPN Configuration from the Azure VPN Client App in Windows.

However, once exported, you are facing issues with importing this into a new machine.

Please note that export will only export the configuration set up of the P2S VPN, but not the associated certificates.

You must make sure the new machine has the Root certificate and Client certificate installed in it.

As next steps,

• From your old machine, you must export the certificates as well.
• See :
  1.Export the root certificate public key
  2.Export the client certificate
• And import them into the new machine
• See : Install client certificates for P2S certificate authentication connections
