Data Share permissions

After talking with the Azure support I was pointed to this Q&A.

My question is regarding how the permissions work in terms of the data being share through Data Shares.

Here is an example:

Folder A is being shared using Data Shares. The destination email owner is getting the invitation and configure the replicas in a destination storage account > Folder B. From there, the personal data being replicate to folder B is out of my control in terms of permission? Can the owner of folder B setup particular access permissions to the files that are being replicated in that destination?

How this will work with an In-place Data Share instead? Any way of keeping controls of the access/permissions to the files at destination?

Thanks in advance

    Hello ,
Thanks for the ask & welcome to the Q&A .

The data share just lets the other party know that you are ready to share the data . You do have an option to call out of anything important when you set up the data share when you add content for "Terms of use " . On the destination side , you ultimately copy the files to a container and distination account owner can set up access control on the files/folder .

    Thanks Himanshu
