Hi
Please help me get the information i need... :)
Some of our employees ask for Office license to use at home for work purposes - due to covid and working from home policies. We own Office ProPlus 2013 and 2016 Open Licenses and we activate Office copies thru KMS host in our office network. Are we allowed to lend a copy to an employee? I'm sure we need an additional license, but is it even ok to install it at non-company PC (still activated with our KMS)? I tried reading thru "use right" and the open license but i couldnt find what i need.

The more complicated the problem the less sure i am of my english, so im sorry if something is hard to understand in above question ;)

    Hi @Stanisław Smólski

Use a computer outside the organization to activate Office through KMS. First, the computer needs to be connected to the KMS host and then activated.

After the client is successfully activated, it remains in the licensed state for 180 days. When in the licensed state, users do not see any notification dialog boxes prompting them to activate the client. After 180 days, the activation attempt process resumes. If activation is continually successful, the whole activation experience is transparent to the user. If activation does not occur during the 180-day period, Office goes into the out-of-tolerance state for 30 days. Users then see notifications that request activation. If activation does not occur during the out-of-tolerance state, Office goes into the unlicensed notification state. Users then see notifications that request activation and a red title bar.

This means that after 210 days, you must connect to the KMS host again to continue using Office normally.

And the number of KMS activations is limited, and one activation will reduce one.

Hope this information is helpful to you.

But does the Open License (bought via TechSoup discounts) allow installing software on a privately owned computer?
