How do I remove files from the list on the home screen of the Office app that are no longer in existance?

I recently bought the Samsung tablet S7+ and when I launch the Office app on the tablet to access Excel, Word etc. (I have a subscription) on the Home screen listed under "Older" listed are 3 Powerpoint plugin files from when I received my MBA from a school back in 2013. When I click on the files it says "Can't open" the file. Then when I attempt to remove the files from the list they do not remove and remain on the home screen? How do I remove the three plugin files?

Some options below. The first did nothing for me but the second and third both worked.

When I press remove from list it does not remove.
