Azure Migrate Mobility Service Push Install fails due to Filter Drivers

Hello,

I am currently using Azure Migrate to transition an Ubuntu 16.04 physical machine to an Azure VM. I have used the discover functionality to find my machine, and have gotten to the point where I start to replicate the machine.

My problem arises when I am manually installing the Mobility Service on my machine. I receive the following error about a filter driver not being loaded correctly.

Here is my system information:
Ubuntu 16.04 kernel: 4.15.0-112-generic

And I am using the following mobility service installer, which I believe is the most recent:

Microsoft-ASR_UA_9.37.0.0_UBUNTU-16.04-64_GA_03Sep2020_Release.tar33393-ua-install.txt

I have attached the install log as well.

Thank you for your help, we are trying to migrate this machine as soon as possible.

@Artem Minin Sorry for the delay in response to your query.
Went through the logs but couldn't find anything useful that would help troubleshoot this issue.

Am assuming this could be an issue with ubuntu kernel version. Check this link for "Endorsed Linux distributions on Azure" to verify and confirm OS kernel version.

Check if agent is already installed. If yes, uninstall the agent and reboot the machine and then reinstall the agent.

No worries! Thank you for your response.

I see that Ubuntu 16.04 kernel 4.15.0.112-generic is in the supported matrix for the mobility service at this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-azure-support-matrix#ubuntu-kernel-versions

What is the agent? Is that the mobility service?

If so, when I attempt to uninstall it, it says that "Either FX or VX is not installed on this setup... Cannot proceed with uninstallation"

Please let me know what else I can try

Unfortunately both of those suggestions did not work for me. When I try and run uninstall.sh I get the following error:

Either FX or VX is not installed in the setup ...
Cannot proceed with uninstallation ...
Check the log file /var/log/ua_uninstall.log for detailed diagnostic messages during uninstallation ...

Following your second link, I see that the drscout.conf file is not corrupted, and has my system information. The error string they referenced is also not in my ua_install.log. I also can not proceed with the uninstall, even after commenting out the StopServices, because apparently FX or VX is not installed. What else should I try?

@Artem Minin Fast way to avoid the filter issue is to run

sudo modprobe -r involflt

which will remove the kernel module from the kernel until you'll finish the installation and reboot or reload the kernel module
