We are integrating OOS 2019 ( latest update ) with our application and everything works great with Word and Powerpoint files but we are having issues with Excel files.
Any file we try to open online has this error: Data culture English (en) is not supported. Data culture English (United States) (en-us) is being used instead. Click OK to view the workbook using data culture English (United States) (en-us).
Once we click OK nothing shows up.
Server side we see the following errors which appear to be related:
Hosted Office Online Office Online common ahe2c Medium Requested UI Culture '9' is different from the fall back culture '1033' 50468c41-c0db-45be-b9b8-7775d4f566f4
Hosted Excel Online Excel Calculation Services 3si7 Medium ExcelServerRegionalSettings.CurrentDataCulture: Set the current thread's data culture to LCID 9 'en' (English). 50468c41-c0db-45be-b9b8-7775d4f566f4

no, it opens fine
For what it's worth, the same exact problem has already been reported here but I don't see an answer to it
"en" is a neutral culture and not one supported by SharePoint/Office Online Server; en-US (LCID 1033) is supported. With that being said, I do not know how/why your Excel document would have a neutral culture nor how to change it :-)
This is the answer. Our app was calling Excel online and passing just 'en' . Switched to en-us and now it works fine. Thank you!
App was calling OOS with ui=en&rs=en , switched to ui=en-us&rs=en-us and now it works as expected.
