Uninstall KB pending restart

Hi, Team.

Can you uninstall a KB that has a pending restart? The kb was deployed and the server has pending restart of that KB

We want to uninstall it because it affected the operating system of some servers.

    Another method is to remove the folder softwaredistribution

    You could but this isn't going to reverse the effect of the update installer. The only solution is to let it complete by rebooting then run the uninstallation. In fact renaming or removing \softwaredistribution may be a problem for uninstall.

    You'll need to reboot then you can uninstall it.

    Thank you Patrick for responding.

    But being in that "pending restart" state you can do something? remove the restart, we don't want it to install and I want to remove the restart.

    Can you?

    You may be able to remove the "RebootRequired" but in order to uninstall it you'll still need to reboot.

    Normally, when we use "shutdown -a", the auto-shutdown schedule or task will be canceled automatically.
    Base on your situation, a reboot should be required before you uninstall it.
