Which version of Office are you using now?
Please go to Word > File > Account > Product Information, check the version name, then share with me.
I would also suggest you try the following steps.
- Go to File > Account > User Information, check the status of your account. Or you could sign out the account and sign back to check this issue.
- If you are using non-subscription versions, such as Office 2013, Office 2016, you may go to File>Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Privacy Options, check the box for "Allow Office to connect to the Internet".
If you are using Microsoft 365 apps, go to File>Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Privacy Options, check the box of "Enable optional connected experiences". - If the steps above does not work, please repair Office on Control Panel.
