I am trying to write an essay. Every time I click on "Blank Document a message appears on the screen says "Sorry, we ran into a problem." I have turned my PC off, reseted my internet connection and that message still appears. No, my account is not expired. What could this be? It has never done this before.

    Could you please tell me which version of Office are you using now? Is it Word for web, or the Word client?

    • If it is Word for web, please post the question on the following forum, as we handel general questions of Office apps on Q&A forum.
      Microsoft 365 and Office on the web
    • If it is Word client, do you use Windows system?
      If so, you may locate to File > Account > Product Information, check the verson name and version number.
      Please close all the files of Office and go to File explorer > View in Show/hide group > check the box of "Hidden Items".
      Then go to C:\Users\<user name >\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates, find the Normal.dotm and rename it. This file will be automatically generated when reopen Word.
