Enterprise Applications vs All Applications

I think understand the difference. But here is one scenario I don't get.

Let's say Tenant-Blue has BlueApp, clientID is "blue".

Now I goto Tenant-Yellow and search for "BlueApp". (It was rumored that an admin of Tenant-Yellow granted consent to let all yellow-members run BlueApp). And as expected, the search is successful. It yields:

Name: BlueApp
ClientID: blue

Well - not quite as expected. If the filter is set to "Enterprise Apps", it does NOT appear. (That's my confusion). It only appear if I set the filter to "All Applications".

I have checked the clientID multiple times. That clientID does not exist in Tenant-Yellow. It exists only in Tenant-blue where it was originally created.

An admin in Tenant-Yellow consented. So why doesn't Tenant-Yellow have it listed as an Enterprise App?

Hello @JAL , thank you for reaching out. The three available options to list the different types of apps registered in AAD are:

    • Enterprise Applications shows non-Microsoft applications.
    • Microsoft Applications shows Microsoft applications.
    • All Applications shows both non-Microsoft and Microsoft applications.

Now based on your description, it looks like the app you are trying to list is a Microsoft Application and hence it is only visible under the All Applications section. That app should also be present if you select Microsoft Applications in the drop-down and hit "Apply"

Do let us know if this works and answers your query. If not, it would be great if you can share the name of the application and the type of application you are trying to list here, and based on that we can dig in further.

    Hope this helps.

Do let us know if this helps and if there are any more queries around this, please do let us know so that we can help you further. Also, please do not forget to accept the response as an Answer; if the above response helped in answering your query.
