Hi,

strange thing, newly installed clients (4 devices yet) dont see the optional applications in software center, existing clients see all optional applications.

We have MECM 2002 + KB4560496 (5.0.8968.1042) - we updated 6 weeks before but problems seems to be new - but i dont know exactly - client installation is not my part, this feedback started on tuesday

Installation log of clients looks good during OSD but after that i only see forced applications (and already installed during OSD) and optional applications deployed for users collections but not optional applications deployed for device collections

We have one large collection for default devices and mostly deploying applications for this collection.

checked the collection -> clients are member
checked deployments for these devices inside MECM console -> its fine, everything is there.
run "deploymentmonitoringtool.exe", checked "deployments tab" and see all the optional applications in the list
so software center hides them? Checked some settings but did not found anything
client settings are equal for all client devices (except some testing devices)

reinstalled of one the 4 clients just to check if same things happens -> yes same happens

per default dont stress the MECM, take a break and let MECM takes his time but OSD finished before 20 hours (standby is off, started policy actions, checked logs but i cant see any bigger error which would explain this behaviour)

    Hi,

In the deployment settings, User Experience, if you are selecting "Hide in Software Center and all notifications", the applications will be hided.

    Check also AppDiscovery.log under "%WINDIR%\CCM\Logs".

    Hi,

yes i know this option but its not the case here. Your mentioned option i am using for required applications which user should not see or on terminalservers so users cant uninstall applications but the not seen apps are just optional one which are set to "display in softwarecenter and only show notifications for restart".

    nothing unusual in appdiscovery log

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft MECM Q&A forum.

1.Please help check the LocationServices.log to see if the problem clients could communicate with the MPs to get the policies.

2.Run the "Application Deployment Evaluation Cycle" on the client actions tab, then check the AppIntentEval.log and SoftwareCenterSystemTasks.log to see if there is any further information.

    Best regards,
    Simon

    Hi,

LocationService.log is good, no error, nothing unusual also in AppIntentEval.log and SoftwareCenterSystemTasks.log

    applications are not working

    softwareupdates and baselines are OK

and its not only one or two applications, maybe 50 or more which are not shown in Softwarecenter and shows error at installstate in "client center for CM" but have never been tried to install

sccm client also shows no error if i check for client problems in manager console

with "Client Center for CM" i see this:

working client and application which is not installed:
Status: Application is available for enforcement (install or uninstall based on resolved status)
    InstallState: NotInstalled

not working client also not installed application:

    Status: Application failed to evaluate
    InstallState: error

on both it shows same version and revision, error code is on both 0x00000000

if i press install in client center (for an application which is not shown in software center) installation works and will be shown after in software center (and application was definitely not shown before, double checked)
