For me, this was due to me using a browser other than Edge. Once I flipped over to Edge, I was able to update things.

This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have had this error message before when I tried to authenticate with my outlook account and I was able to edit the connection and authenticate again. Now I'm not able to do this. I have deleted the api connection, I tried to authenticate in other browsers and I tried to do all over again while in incognito. Why is this happening? What else can I do to solve this problem?

I literally had to load my FireFox settings and disable all Custom tracking permissions other than cryptominers then reload the page in private, and build the connection for the connector.
In retrospect it should have been the only tab I had open at all. This is indeed very sucky.
