Windows 10 20H2 searchapp.exe - network connection

Question

I use group policy to disable Cortana and Windows Search. I've uninstalled Edge. I disable WIndows search service. But the searchapp.exe still runs and makes a network connection to somewhere at Microsoft. I rather not go through the convoluted methods to remove it. Instead my sense is the best way to deal with it is a blocking firewall rule. Has anyone had success in setting up a firewall rule to block searchapp.exe?

Hi ,

You might try to reate an outbound rule blocking internet access to SearchApp.exe.

You can use this program path for example:

C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\SearchApp.exe

Well. At times the connection is to somewhere in the mid-west. And other times it is to Amsterdam. And still at other times somewhere else. The answer I am seeking is if I was a Company and I did not want these network connections for security reasons what should I do? I have Pro. I have gone through the GPO. I have tried to limit unnecessary network connections. I have removed unnecessary 'features' and 'packages'. How can I limit my companies exposure to outside information gathering?

This is DISTURBING. I have online integration disabled and never got any search result from the Start, but Windows still connects without my knowledge.
