DNS CNAME

The Windows 2016 the DNS setting A record set abc.ddd.com = 10.10.10.1. when i create a CNAME call monkey point to abc.ddd.com.
I try to ping and nslookup "monkey or monkey.ddd.com also cannot point to 10.10.10.1. Please advice.

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

    I created an A record in corresponded zone in my lab and I created a CNAME record for it as well. Then I logged in a domain user and initiated ping and nslookup the CNAME record, they were all replied successfully. Please refer to the following screenshots.

    Please kindly note that when created the CNAME record, FQDN of the target host should be inserted in the last blank.
    e.g. "vpnserver.sunny.com" or "vpnserver.sunny.com."

    If you still cannot ping or nslookup the CNAME record successfully, please help to clarify detailed steps of how did you create the CNAME record or provide related screenshots for further troubleshooting.
