Azure communication services- validate existing phone numbers

I am considering Azure communication services for sending sms from a SPA. One of the features we need is to verify phone number validity before sending or storing a number. Is this supported with ACS ? If yes, please direct me to the supporting docs.

Thanks for your interest in Azure Communication Services! While we don't support this functionality today, this is something we are looking at adding (APIs to validate phone number format, as well as potentially providing more insights on carrier, etc.). We would love to hear more about your expectations and requirements in this area.

I am looking for API on azure just to validation phone number format. For e.g if i pass
+44 7448100333
it should return
country code : UK
Dialing code : 44
Phone number: +44 7448100333

Similarly if i pass +1 604 555 5555 as phone number. + 1 is common dialing code for America and Canada but the area code are different so looking at number it should return canada as country code in this case
country code: ca
dialing code: 1
phone number: 604 555 5555

Please let me know if this feature is available on azure services?

We would like the following features:

Check if a number is valid or not, this is needed for sending sms

Format numbers in international/local format based on country code

We plan to go live around July 2021. We have been looking at Twilio/Sendgrid as well but I would like to keep our client in the Azure ecosystem.

Is sending email and templates also part of ACS ?

When do you anticipate ACS to be generally available ?

Thank you for the feedback @Sagar Sawant ! This feature is not currently available but something the team is looking into for future investments. Thanks for sharing the feature requirements at this level of detail - it helps us in our design process ensure we are solving the right problems. I have passed this information along to the specific team that will handle it and they are aware of the requirements.

Checking for phone number validity is not available today, but I have passed this feedback along to the appropriate team and they have added it to their backlog for prioritization. You can see more information on our roadmap on the GitHub page (https://github.com/Azure/Communication/projects/1). I've also passed along the request for formatting the phone numbers in international/local formats based on country code.

We don't have a specific date we are sharing externally at this time, but we are planning to release to GA early 2021.

Sending emails is an area we are investigating but don't have any formal plans for yet - if there are specific use cases or requirements you would like to share, feel free to respond to this thread or file an issue on our github page (https://github.com/Azure/Communication/issues)
