NotAvailableForSubscription for almost everything

According to PowerShell there are 7583 VM SKUs across all regions. All but 576 of those will show as NotAvailableForSubscription. How can this be?

Now it gets worse because in the web interface i have to first chose an image. With an image applied (just standard Windows Server or Ubuntu server), now next to nothing is available anywhere.

I thought maybe this is due to the trial subscription that I was using and I upgraded to a paid subscription but still it is the same.

    Support helped me to resolve this.

    Apparently, when I switched from trial to pay-as-you-go, it didn't take even though it was already showing as pay-as-you-go in the web interface. As a result my subscription only allowed a very limited selection of VM SKUs, just like it is in trial. Support manually upgraded my subscription to pay-as-you-go.

    As for the current state of trial subscriptions, I was told that due to high demand, and referring to the March 21 statement on the global health pandemic, at this moment all non paying subscriptions are blocked from virtually all VM SKUs in all regions.

    Hey. Have you checked you vCPU limits? Maybe you need to increase it with an quota increase request:

    Hi!

    when you are using a Trial account, maybe some regions or services are not pre-enabled by default in your account. Depending on the service you are interested in, you can register the different resource providers manually (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/management/resource-providers-and-types).

    In any case, opening a support ticket of type "Billing" can help you to enable the services for you

    The limit is 10 vCPUs for most SKUs and regions. Shouldn't that open up a lot of SKUs?

    I'm working with this article. It suggests to create a support ticket. I'll see how that goes.

    I wrote them that for instance in US East I cannot get a single SKU.
