Hi all,
I am not sure if I have posted this in the right forum, apologies in advance.
We have an on-premise SCCM infrastructure which we use for image deployment and patch management. We have recently taken over another company (company b) and have a domain trust between our companies.
Company b - I would like to if possible leverage our existing SCCM infrastructure to deploy a DP (distribution point) and use that to deploy a "standard" image. I've read online this possible so no issues there (I hope).
However, no-one clearly explains the licencing implications for this kind of setup rather clearly, and I am struggling to get a clear answer from our licencing partner.
Q1: Do we need to buy additional licences to cover company B? My gut feeling is "yes", but just the endpoints, i.e. desktops and laptops as the core SCCM infrastructure would be licenced against our Microsoft agreement - can someone confirm?.
Q2: would those endpoint licences need to be brought against the company b's open licence agreement (which is they have as they are small.) or would I need to buy the additional licences against our MPSA agreement?
I realise the forum isn't always the best place to ask licencing questions, but I hope someone has had a similar experience and can provide a little steer.
Thanks.
