BizTalk Server 2013 - EDI Batching orchestration performance and Load Balancing

Question

BizTalk Server 2013 - EDI Batching orchestration performance and Load Balancing .

We are running on BizTalk 2013 version for EDI messaging. we are facing performance issues in load balancing the outgoing EDI batches where in more than half of the batches run on one of the three servers and the rest take less load.

sometime one of the server wont take a single batch at all.

BizTalk Server load balances these batches on it's own (in built load balancing) and we are unable to control the batch distribution across all the three servers.

These uneven distribution of batches is resulting in high load on one of the server whichever is taking more batch count causing Throttling which is a big issue for us.

we are not planning to upgrade BizTalk Server to 2013 R2 any sooner so any help or advice on how to fix or load balance these batches will be much appreciative.

Sorry that I’m not good at BizTalk Server so maybe I couldn't help you solve the issue. But some general troubleshooting could be tried.

If you don't mind, please provide us with more details to narrow down the issue

• Did this issue happen recently or all the time? If this issue happened recently, can you recall any changes made to the server? For example, if an update was installed, perhaps uninstall the update would help.
  If the issue happened all the time, please refer to Creating a Highly Available BizTalk Server Environment to check your environment.
• Is it possible to close one of the servers? If possible, we can see whether the issue persists in two servers. And we can know which server causes the issue.

The solution is not relevant to our concern.
we are referring to the BizTalk EDI outgoing Batch jobs load balancing not the BizTalk Server 'Server' load balancing. the reference to BizTalk EDI outgoing batch jobs is in below link.

upon my research i found that there was some fix provided in 2013 R2 CU pack 5...problem is we are using BizTalk Server 2013 not 2013R2. I'm looking for some solution /fix for my above described problem in 2013.

Hi,

Sorry again that I didn't provide a solution for you.

The mainstream support for BizTalk Server 2013 has ended at 2018. So if KB4094163 has been installed on all the three servers but the issue persists, you may have to update to 2013 R2 to get the fix.

Or you can post your issue on some third-party forums. There might be some solutions for you.
