Partial/Specific Copy Environment to Sandbox

Does anyone know if its possible to partially copy from Production to Sandbox rather than a full Copy, or even if you can copy specific data across?

To give an understanding our development team uses the sandbox environment to check connections to internal in house built systems we have an environment that talks to production and a separate beta environment that talks to Sandbox.

We often have the need to have real time data to check specific issues and we would want to be able to pull specific accounts into the sandbox environment rather than a full data copy as it is unnecessary and a drain on Data Capacity.

Any ideas how it can be done or suggested methods to follow will be appreciated.
