Looking to do some hardware upgrades to the network at the company I work for this year and I am thinking about the possibility of migrating most of my servers to a new Hyper-V platform. I currently have 6 servers (2 x DC's, 1 x File server, 2 x SQL and 1 x general apps and RDS server) All but one of these servers are out of warranty so getting the base services in Hyper-V would be the priority (dc's, file, print, dhcp and RDS) The SQL servers I would leave till last. Its a network with only about 30 PC's that connect to it with 4xHP 2530-24G switches. So its not massive and I am not expecting to have to upgrade anything. I am more concerned with the type of spec I need to look for with the Hyper-V server. I found a good blog post that is a few years old that goes into detail the kind of hardware I would need for a network smaller than this one. But I wondered if there is anything out there that gives a spec builder for the type of services I need on Hyper-V?
