Office Online Server - Januarary 2021 Update KB4493160

After installing KB4493160 on Windows 2016 I cannot add the server back to the farm.

New-OfficeWebAppsFarm : The operation failed. The server did not meet the following prerequisites:

  • The "Ink and Handwriting Services" Windows Server Feature must be installed and enabled.
    At line:11 char:1

This patch cannot be uninstalled.

OOS 2016 Nov 2018 build 16.0.10338.20039
SW_DVD5_Office_Professional_Plus_64Bit_English_-6_OfficeOnlineSvr_MLF_X21-90444
Was working fine before patching.

Uninstalled OOS and reinstalled from ISO and still get the same error.

Any ideas?

    Did you install the Ink and Handwriting services feature from Server Manager?

    That is not possible Ink and Handwriting is built into server 2016 and not an installable feature,
    This was also problem with OOS prior to the November 2018 build.

    I installed on a new server and did not apply KB4493160, the issue is the same 'The "Ink and Handwriting Services" Windows Server Feature must be installed and enabled.'
    So something has changed on our server baseline since I last updated Office Online.
