Use of Reputation Points

I am new to the Microsoft Q & A

Can anyone explain what is the use of earning 'Reputation Points' in Microsoft.

Is there any awarding schemes for users with high points ?

No, there is rewards or money benefits with reputation points.
Points just showcase your level of expertise.
