I have a computer with VS Pro 2019 and have a very slow, metered, internet connection. Is there a way I can download the Updates from another location with a good internet connection and then install the updates on my computer with the slow internet connection? I have spent a lot of time searching and haven't found any solution. Thanks!

You can create an offline installer with a command line. Download the latest version of the vs_professional.exe and put on a flash drive. Run a command like below to create an offline installer. This command downloads everything and will take a while (gets big). This article will show how only download the workflows you are looking for. It also shows to install from the downloaded files

                 vs_Professional.exe --layout c:\vslayout --lang en-US

    Hi @Andrew Meador ,

If you are not sure how you installed the existing Visual Studio, you need to uninstall the current Visual Studio 2019 Professional and create an offline installation of newer Visual Studio.
About downloading the vs_professional.exe, you can find it in the step 1 – Download the Visual Studio Bootstrapper. It is a exe file instead of a ISO.
Then, use the following command line to create a local install cache in a computer with good internet connection. The vslayout folder will contains all features.
    vs_professional.exe --layout c:\vslayout --lang en-US

After that, you can copy the vslayout folder to the another computer with slow internet connection and install the Visual Studio from the vslayout cache.

    Sincerely,
    Anna
