Resource has access to timesheet but cannot see tasks assigned to them.

Question

Situation:
I have resources set up in Microsoft project online for time reporting. 4 of the resources can access their timesheet but cannot see the tasks assigned to them. 3 of the 4 resources have duplicate entries on the resource center list. 1 is not duplicated.
I thought the problem was the resources were duplicated in the resource center list. I tried to make the resource inactive but that did not remove them from the resource list and then tried to delete one of the records and I could not delete the record, the resource still appeared on the resource center list twice and they still could not see their assigned tasks. I am wondering if there are two different issues here as 1 resource is Not duplicated on the resource list but cannot see their tasks assigned to them on their timesheet.

I need help trouble shooting this.
