How can I GetAppAndOptionalStorePackageUpdatesAsync Without Getting FileNotFoundException?

I've been trying to get help on this from Microsoft or anyone who's got this working somehow. My app is a LOB app distributed via Microsoft Store.

I am getting a 'FileNotFoundException: The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)'

when trying to 'GetAppAndOptionalStorePackageUpdatesAsync' for my app.

I've also filed an entry in Feedback Hub, Github, reached out to Partner Center support, complained on Twitter, Microsoft forums, etc.

Based on the GitHub issue link, the store team engineer who owns this API is investigating this issue according to asklar. I'd suggest you follow this issue on the Github. I'd also contact the store team to see if there are any updates about this.

Yes. I'm in that thread desperately waiting for a solution. The engineer has been unresponsive so far. I'd love to get more direct contact with the "store team," but haven't had that privilege. Believe me, I keep trying. Github issue has been there for months. The problem itself has existed for about 3 years.

I have something updated here. I made a simple test with an app that published in the public store. The GetAppAndOptionalStorePackageUpdatesAsync works correctly and returns the correct value in both scenarios that does/doesn't have an updated version. Not sure if the issue is related to LOB apps.

Please keep following the GitHub issue for the update.
