Windows Server 2016 RDC launh app when user Logon

Question

I want to setup a user when RDP to Windows server 2016 to launch a specific program. The user should not be able to see the desktop of the server. I have added the program filename in the Starting Program for the user but its no working. I need help on this. You can consider of applying this via group policy:

Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Remote Session Environment

User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Remote Session Environment

Please Noted: These Group Policy settings will take precedence over the settings configured in Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration. If both the Computer Configuration and the User Configuration policy settings are configured, the Computer Configuration policy settings take precedence. Also, the Always show desktop on connection policy setting will take precedence over the Start a program on connection policy setting.

Hi Karlie

Thank you for the reply. If I change in the group policy as you mentioned, will it also apply to administrators too? I want to apply this app launch only for users.

Thank you for the help but I used the remote app instead on windows server 2016 to publish the app and it works fine.
