Exchnage server domain migration

Dear Support,

one of client have exchange 2016 running and currently email id is user1@xyz .com so now we are planning to Migrate with user1@Nicholas .com..

so email while sending and receiving email must send by user1@Nicholas .com but if any outside email receive on old email user1@xyz .com that should redirect and deliver on user1@Nicholas .com..

so could you please share the steps of migration..

your support highly appreciated

    Hi @Yasar mistry ,

    To migrate users to a new domain, you can setup trusts between new and old forest and then do a cross forest migration to move the mailboxes over. For the overall guidance, you can refer to the links below (The links are for Exchange 2010 or 2013, but the steps are similar in Exchange 2016):

    Besides, as per your concerning about receiving mails to old domain, you can use email address policy to change users' primary email address to the new domain, and meanwhile keeping the old email address as an alternative address, allowing them to receive emails to both addresses.

    Dear Support,

    Thanks for the reply, but i dont want to do cross migration as my local domain wil remain same but only accepted domain for exchange wants to change..
    i want to add one more accepted domain and old accepted domain want to remove but if any body send email on old email domain should get receive and redirect to new domain.

    Please advise
