Move the monthly Azure data disk backup every first day of the month into Archive tier?

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to perform the once in a month Archival purpose for my two DATA disks only from Azure VM running CentOS Linux

  • 1x Premium SSD 512 GB SSE with PMK
  • 1x Premium SSD 1 TB SSE with PMK

Requirements:

  1. Move the monthly backup every 1st day of the month into Archive tier and set the retention period for 7 years.
  2. Delete any data older than 7 years of age from the date of archival.

At the moment the VM is backed up using Azure Backup into Recovery Service Vault, but the price is too much to pay yearly.

Can someone please assist me in the steps and the procedures to achieve the above?
