Logon to MS domain from Windows 10 using 4G

My organization uses laptops with an internal modem to authenticate to a Microsoft domain via APN. With windows 10 the operating system classifies the internal modem as a network adapter in the device manager and not as a modem and it is not possible to preset the operator's APN to be able to validate the credentials on the authentication screen.
This can be done on Windows 7 with the Lenovo L450. We now have Lenovo L490 laptops, and on these we can no longer install Windows 7 because the hardware no longer allows it. We have hundreds of devices in this situation that we cannot use for the functions that were acquired and we cannot continue to use Windows 7 anyway!
The organization has authentication in its own Microsoft domain and professionals use laptops anywhere, especially on the streets in an urban environment, which requires using 4G networks to work on network data, namely queries and updating databases in real time.
External USB modems create the problem of breaking the USB ports as it is for intensive and professional use.
This is a very important issue for us, so I appreciate all the help you can provide.

    Hi ,

Please understand, we have no such laptop internal modem 4g device to test in our lab. If this issue is urgent, I would suggest you open a case with Microsoft where more in-depth investigation can be done so that you would get a more satisfying explanation and solution to this issue.

Thanks for sharing more details. Based on my understanding, internal modem in windows 10 is recognized as network adapter instead of Modems.

I am afraid it is a by-design behavior in windows 10. As a workaround, we need to use external USB modem.

Since you can't use external modems in your environment and if you want to find other solutions, I would suggest you open a case with Microsoft. They can do a in-depth investigation and give you a more satisfying explanation.
