memcm 2010 Software Centre bug workaround

I was wondering how to get around the now famous software centre bug in MEMCM 2010. We have tried re-installing the client but it fails after a day. Is it feasible to copy the contents of the 'Client' folder from a 2006 system over the Client folder in our 2010 system then push out a uninstall/reinstall of the client to all clients?

    The 2010 HFRU is being actively worked and should address this issue for customers. Assuming our quality bars are met, we are hopeful for a release of the HFRU early next week.

    I know - we have a case open.
    Im wondering if my suggested workaround will work.
