Windows 2008 r2 ESU and .net update failing

Hello, last night I applied my 2008 R2 extended support code and that went well I think and I was able to do a Windows update and the latest Windows security patches downloaded and installed. The .net update of KB4603002 did not install though and it gave a generic 0x80070643 error. My question is very high level and it is this, will the ESU keycode enable us to apply .net updates as well or is it just for the Windows Security Updates? Thanks for any clarification. I am just a little confused since it is my first experience with applying updates under ESU.

Ok so since I have the ESU applied then the .net security updates should have worked.

Thanks, I can narrow down my troubleshooting based on that.
