How to use xxxx.onmicrosoft.com emails as Apple Ids for MDM installation on iOS?

We have set up a test company and want to test Intune MDM. Unfortunately, you need to logon with an Apple Id which is defaulted to the test company credentials used in the portal. So, logging in as joe@mathieu.company .onmicrosoft.com sets the Apple Id as joe@mathieu.company .onmicrosoft.com. You cannot create an Apple Id with this email as it doesn't recognize it as being a valid email address. Is there some workaround here? Otherwise, it seems like any companies using xxxx.onmicrosoft.com domains will not be able to use Intune MDM.

    @Anonymous Thanks for the explain.

    Could you please check if there is any profile under Devices > iOS/iPadOS > iOS/iPadOS enrollment > Enrollment type profiles (preview) in intune portal? If yes, it is suggested to try to delete the enrollment type profile and enroll the iOS device again.

    Hope it will help.

    @Anonymous Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

    For this issue, the Apple ID is created in Apple and the Apple ID is unrelated to intune account. They are not the same account.

    For testing MDM, what we need to do is in the following link:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/setup-steps

    Besides, could you please tell us what does MDM installation on iOS mean? Does it mean that you want to enroll iOS devices to intune? If yes, we can refer to the following articles:

    1. Get an Apple MDM push certificate in intune portal
      https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/enrollment/apple-mdm-push-certificate-get
    2. Enroll the iOS device
      https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/user-help/enroll-your-device-in-intune-ios

    Hope the above information will help.

    Sorry for the imprecise language and thanks for your help!

    By installation, I really mean the installation of the management profile on the iOS BYOD.

    When I go to General -> Profiles -> Select the Profile -> Enroll My iPhone

    I have to then enter the device passcode... no problem

    But then, I get a Sign In screen which is asking me to sign into my test company with two fields:

    => Apple ID: pre-filled with the joe@mathieu.company .onmicrosoft.com userid and cannot be modified
    => Password:

    But joe@mathieu.company .onmicrosoft.com is not an Apple ID and I cannot change this field to my personal Apple ID.... so I'm stuck at this step.

    From the instructions on "How to install management profile"

    Step 2 says "You may be prompted to enter your device PIN and sign into your organization account."

    The PIN is fine, I don't understand why the organization account is designated as an Apple ID.

    Trying the organization logon joe@mathieu.company .onmicrosoft.com with the organizational password won't validate.
