Forced PIN

After every time I boot into safe mode, at the next normal sign in screen Windows 10 forces me to create a PIN, which I do not want to do. To fix this, I have to either create a PIN and then remove it in the settings, or cut the power to my computer. I have the latest updates to my anti-virus software (McAfee) and it tells me I'm clean. Why is Windows 10 attempting to force me to create a PIN when I explicitly instruct it not to create one?

    Hello,

You can try to also disable PIN using registry. Try these steps:

    1. Open Registry Editor.
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System.
    3. Set AllowDomainPINLogon to 0.
    4. Close Registry Editor and reboot your system.

Let us know if this helps!

I appreciate your response KapilArya and will modify this value in the future. I did notice that this variable, AllowDomainPINLogon, must be entered manually, and was wandering if this missing variable is the default.

Also, however, I'm still trying to determine if this is Microsoft or malware, because these PINs are an extremely insecure feature anyways.
