Storage Spaces unusable performances

Question

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a Storage Space with 3 x 4TB Seagate in a QNAP TR-004 case but performances are unacceptable.

QNAP configured in "Individual" mode so all 3 drives seen as independent ones: tested to write on each of them and each of them reported 170MB/s
QNAP configured as hardware RAID5: write speed 225MB/s
Single drive config + Storage Spaces with Parity, used entire space (7,2TB): very variable, from 40MB/s to 0MB/s, medium write speed 10MB/s

I enabled the setting optimize USB for performances end enabled write cache on all three drives and also on the StorageSpace volume it is enabled.
QNAP is connected with USB3 and I used the same connection method for all tests obviously.
Windows version is 20H2

Thanks for your post, according to your description, the issue seems to be performance issue, since performance issue may need to collect some deep logs, such as performance monitor log, storport logs, it's limited to troubleshoot performance log via forum, so it's recomemnded to open a case with MS for deep troubleshooting. Threat can be closed and thanks can be given however the answer cannot be accepted because it does not provide any solution, it just forward the debug to another entity.
