Immediately signed out of Windows

Hi,

I'm a 3D artist so this is already pushing the limits of my technical knowledge, but what I'm trying to do is simple enough.

I created a vm (Standard NV8as_v4) and used what appeared to be default settings across the board. I added the NVIDIA driver so I can use Unreal Engine.

The problem is within a few seconds of using the vm, windows shows a message saying "You're about to be signed out" and it immediately restarts the machine (and kicks me off). Azure health shows an "Unexpected VM Restart" but the info provided did not resolve my problem.

As I said, this is a bit out of my area of expertise and any insights will be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,

    as far as i can see the machine that you are trying install the nvidia driver on runs a Radeon instinct GPU.
    this most likely causes the issue.

    Hello and sorry for the delay! If you haven't gotten this resolved already, I'd be happy to help you get back to using the Unreal Engine on a VM. Looking at your screenshot, the "Reboot initiated from inside the machine" message from the Resource Health means that we can probably get a good idea of what happened by looking at the event manager on your VM.

    Before we get too deep in the weeds with troubleshooting I do want to point out that depending on your setup, some downtime is expected depending on the SLA for your VM. This may resolve on its own after giving it some time to recover (99.9% uptime means that there may be up to 8 hours and 45 minutes of downtime in a year). Common causes of downtime are maintenance, updates, server faults, and VM crashes (see the checklist of common causes for more information).

    If you're unable to get to the Event Viewer as described in the other answer and you are still encountering immediate logouts, let me know and we can troubleshoot further.
