If you are using import mode you do not require a connection to the data source except for when you are running a refresh operation. You can back up a tabular "cube" and restore it on to another SSAS server and then query it on that other machine. But both machines would require a SQL license and would need to have SSAS Tabular installed for this to work
Can you load and store data into an SSAS Cube?

Hello,
I need to find a way to load data into an SSAS cube (preferably tabular) which can then be opened on a different computer (via USB transfer).
Is it possible to "store" data into cubes and then open them on different devices via power bi?
Or do the cubes always need to have a connection to the data source( SQL server datawarehouse).
Any help is appreciated.

2021-03-16T08:02:47.817+00:00 I thinks offline cube will also work for this requirement, that you could use Excel to open and view the data.
But this works only with OLAP database for now, not tabular.
