I am using Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard as a server for an Accounting software.

Users login to Server using Remote desktop from their own computer but only 2 users can login concurrently.

If I want to add more than 2 users to login concurrently, what is the Step by Step I should do, and any license should I buy?

Thanks
Eddy

    Hi @Eddy Mulianto

Thank you for posting in Q & A.

Each user and device that connects to a Remote Desktop Session host needs a client access license (CAL). You use RD Licensing to install, issue, and track RDS CALs.
    Refer below article:
License your RDS deployment with client access licenses (CALs)
Activate the Remote Desktop Services license server
Install RDS client access licenses on the Remote Desktop license server
    refer step-by-step article:
How to Install and Activate the RDS Licensing Role on Windows Server 2019/2016

    Hello @Eddy Mulianto

If you want to allow more than 2 simultaneously sessions, RDS deployment with appropriate RDS CALs installed is necessary.

    RDS deployment
For example, if you need more than 2 connections to your Windows Server 2012 from internal device, then, below RDS serve role might be necessary:

    1. RD Connection Broker.
    2. RD Session Host.
    3. RD Licensing server – there is 120-day licensing grace period, appropriate RDS CALs should be purchased and installed before it has expired.

    Deploy your Remote Desktop environment

    RDS CALs
you must pay for "Remote Desktop Services client access licenses" (RDS CALs) for people to connect.

License your RDS deployment with client access licenses (CALs)

And also you have to decide to which type of CAL you will need unique device (Per Device) or unique person (Per User) ?

You can purchase CALs from the Microsoft store or other 3rd party resellers.
To activate the CALs, you need to have your product key, OLP license and activation number or other form of licensing information for your license.

    Best Regards
    Karlie
