I've made sure I have the same version of RD (10.2.1810.0) downloaded on the host and client. I keep getting the error

"You have been disconnected because another connection was made to the remote PC."
Error code: 0x516
Extended error code: 0x0
Activity ID: {0601ed64-0a52-479f-b93d-ae5888b30000}

Both PC's are on the same network.
Host is running: Windows 10 Pro 1909
Client is running the same.

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting your query. According to your description, here are some suggestios. And more information would be grateful.

    Are you using the latest version of RD Connection app? If not, please try the latest or the former version. Would this make a difference?

    How are RDS roles distributed in your environment?
    There is a restriction on the number of simultaneous RDP sessions – only one remote user can work at a time. If you want more than 2 concurrent connections, you will need to install the Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) role and buy "Remote Desktop Services client access licenses" (RDS CALs) for people to connect.

    Please check from the group policy , whether the connections has been limited to only one user.
    Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > limit number of Connections: set to Disabled or Not Configured

    Best Regards,
    Grace

    Have the same problem. More info:

    a) latest version installed on both PC

    b) both Win10 Home edition

    c) Is a home environment.... just 2 PC trying to connect (you know, the feature that windows pro has by default..... but MS decided that "home users" where not eligible to make remote desktop)

    Got exactly these error codes.

    Day before I had been able to connect but the next day I got the error:
    You have been disconnected because another connection was made to the remote PC.
    Error code: 0x516
    Extended error code: 0x0
    Activity ID {...}

    In my case restarting the computer I wanted to connect to solved that issue but then I got another error instead:
    Error code: 0x3
    Extended error code: 0x5

    To solve that I had to disable remote control and then enable it again on target computer. After that the connection worked again.

    Bit messy, would expect the disconnect to work as it should instead of having to take these steps to be able to reconnect.
