Can unsealed MPs which export as a XML (not MPD) be imported into SCOM? Is it only the unsealed MPs which export as MPD be imported?
Is it fair to assume that unsealed MPs of overrides (custom MPs) are not useable?,... if the dependency sealed MP (original MP downloaded) is no longer available?,.. will this lead to incompatibilities? How will I know there incompatibilities?,... what will I detect the incompatibilities in the alerts or event viewer?

SCSM (service manager) MP versus SCOM MP? Are these interchangeable?

Basically, importing an mp in xml format will prevent any dependent mp from using it, so it should be avoided.
What mp are you missing? It could be available somewhere.

And scom and scsm are two different products, their mps are different as well.

    Hi,

We could either import a unsealed MP (.xml) or a sealed bundle (*.mpb, which contains multiple .mp files). Only sealed MP can be referenced by others. For example, if MP1 references MP2, MP2 must be sealed.

    Regards,

    Alex
