We are currently assessing Azure Private Link. I want to know if it's possible to specify only a small subset of Ports on a Load Balancer. I am aware of Azure Standard Load Balancer to help load-balance all protocol flows on all ports simultaneously when you're using an internal Load Balancer via HA Ports however we don't need that for this scenario.

In general, a load balancer rule is used to define how incoming traffic is distributed to the all the instances within the backend pool and this rule maps a given frontend IP configuration and port to multiple backend IP addresses and ports.
However, if you have a requirement to load balance services on multiple ports, you can make use of Multiple frontends for Azure Load Balancer concept.

You can use a single frontend with multiple rules where the same frontend IP address is used but the port or protocol is different for each frontend.

Hi,
You will not be able to specify a range in the Azure Load Balancer. You can create upto 200 rules which means you need to manually create 200 ports assigned to a rule if you need so. If you don't need that HA is the only option.
