Cannot build app with MakeAppX due to hyphen in company name

I've got a problem with building anappx for my app with the id “applicationId: “companyname-companyname2GMBH.companyname3” because “MakeAppx” doesn’t allow hyphens in the name.

Is this a bug with makeAppx? Can I rename my company without hyphens?

Based on your description, you are using MakeAppX to package your app. Have you tried to package your app with other tools like Visual Studio?

no didn't do that till now.

But I still think the MakeAppX regex is still buggy and the root of my problem.

It's just an attempt to see if the company name is valided. If the VS could package your app, then you don't have to change the company name.

Hi, the thing is our app is an electron app build with electron-build.

There is no way I can build is with VS as far as I know.
