DDoS from free online stress test

Question

Hello , if i stress test a virtual network protected by a standard ddos protection plan, the ddos protection does not mitigate any attacks , it does not even recognise them,
I used this tool : https://www.stressthem.to/booter ,it has a power of 1Gbps , and i know ddos attackers have a lot more then that, and 2 days ago , i asked a friend with a bought stress tool if he can test the ddos protection , it did mitigate 8MB . but the power of the ddos was waaay above 8MB, the rest was unrecognised as a ddos attack.

You can technically simulate a DDoS from anywhere and DDoS Standard will handle it like any DDoS attack. However, most services (rightfully) won’t let you simulate DDoS attacks against IPs that you do not own.

BreakingPoint is the only Microsoft-partnered solution and allows you to validate IP ownership via an Azure AD app to ensure no nefarious usage. Hence Microsoft recommends BreakingPoint Cloud as the only simulation tool for validating DDOS. Even the free trial is usually enough to trigger a mitigation and all the data that comes with it.
