When I try to install Microsoft® SQL Server® 2014 Service Pack 3 (SP3) Express

it is creating the folder under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Binn

instead C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Binn

Because of this I am getting the vulnerability microsoft sql server unsupported version detection

please suggest how to resolve this, earlier we used to install Microsoft® SQL Server® 2014 Service Pack 3 (SP3) Express

    Both folders are the same.
Which tool reports vulnerability? If a tool judge this just by folder name, then it's a very silly tool.

SQL Server 2014 with SP 3 is supported up to 07/09/2024, see

    Hi @Fahrid F ,
Agree with Olaf. The Binn folder in ProgramFiles\Microsoft SQL Server\<Instance_ID>.<Instance Name>\MSSQL\ is very important and cannot be deleted.
And if you need to configure scanning software, you can exclude files or directories from this doc (as applicable) from virus scanning.

    Best Regards,
    Amelia

Is the actual Microsoft recommendation to exclude files and directories from vulnerability scanners to avoid reporting security vulnerabilities ? You gotta be kidding me right....
