I am currently building out a Windows Virtual Desktop and I am aware of the process but wondering if it is possible to have my VM join the Azure domain if it is in another Vnet that that of my Azure AD Domain Services? Any helpful response is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous , if the vNet with the WVD VM is peered with the vNet of the Azure AD Services it's not a problem. Could you provide a doc for your statement " vNets should be configured to use the Azure ADDS DNS server for DNS name resolution." I seemed to have hit a road block and would like some clarity.

In the AADDS config doc is a hint for doing this:

If you like to join a VM in a different vNet to the domain it's required:

network communication between the 2 vNets (AADDS vNet and VM vNet)

DNS name resolution of domain xyz.xyz in both vNets (otherwise the VM can't join the AD domain)

For that reason I am doing the following steps:

Peering between the two vNets

Using the existing DNS servers of AADDS for name resolution in both vNets

Create a forwarder in both DNS servers to use 8.8.8.8.and 8.8.4.4 for internet DNS name resolution
