We were told that a snap package will be soon launched for Teams linux
When is snap launch for teams ?

There is no roadmap for Teams linux, I am attaching the screenshot of the so called roadmap for linux version of Teams.
Microsoft is releasing updates for teams windows version left and right..day and night. And because linux users are very less, Teams for Linux doesn't even have a roadmap for god sake.

Can you show me the roadmap for Teams linux ? No bcoz there isn't any.
Linux users literally have to shout to get the features which Windows users are enjoying without even asking.

Windows users might get 7*7 video grid soon, and here we are on 2*2 grid on linux with no roadmap on when 3*3 will come.

Raise hand to speak...again the same story, no one knows when it will come ( or if it will come at all)

And basically for all the features linux version will always be 1 yr behind Windows version, may b even more.
We'll get 2020 features in 2021 ( if we r lucky ), but by that time Windows will be way too ahead for linux version.

Linux will always do the catching up with windows version with 1 or 2 yrs of delay.

The important question is why those basic features are not in roadmap for Teams Linux. ?
Because Teams for Linux can still function without those features so let it be.
For end users those are very important features, so they should be on roadMap for sure.

VisualStudio code is also based on Electron, how come they keep it updated just like Windows versions?

Can we expect a honest answer if Teams Linux will ever be at par with Windows or it will be like.....Windows version gets 10 new features in 2020 and Linux gets 3 features out of those 10 in 2021, coz that's how it is.

Even the most important features are not present like Raise hand to speak, 3x3 video grid and giving controls for screen sharing, and if we ask we are just told to see the roadmap, that is so irresponsible reply when the roadmap itself doesnt have anything.

So what should we assume? that roadmap wont have any clear list and teams will be updated as per the convenience and needs of internal team at microsoft ? and we should just keep checking the repository if there are any new insiders build in a hope that there will be a newer version in future ? which will include just 1-2 new features which came 7-8 months after windows got 10 new features.

Looks like Linux version will just do catching up with windows version with a delay of 1 or 2 yrs...simple

Any news about the Linux client?
We're still not able to share a single app, that's really a pain...

Stop waiting forever, try to use another tool. I now use zoom.us where versions are on par for all the platforms. Client is also more stable and a lot more responsive. Linux client cannot share a single window, only entire screen, and the possibility to only share powerpoint and not even pdf make the tool only usable on MSwindows, since there will never be a port of MSoffice to linux.
